FAQ

Are you accepting new patients?

As of December 1, 2022, Amelia is pausing in accepting new patients in preparation of adjusting to motherhood. She hopes to re-start accepting new patients in Fall of 2023.  Stay tuned for updates which will be posted on the home page.

Do you accept insurance?

Our office does not accept insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid. We accept payment by credit card, debit card, Health Saving Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Saving Accounts (FSA) to compensate for services. A superbill (a detailed medical receipt) can be printed out and submitted to your insurance to charge for out-of-network reimbursement, but there is no guarantee that insurance will cover for the services rendered, if any.  Some labs ordered may be covered by insurance.  We do not submit to insurance or call insurance.  Patients are responsible in managing any issues that may arise with their contracted insurance company.

If you are interested in receiving care at Guiding Light Holistic Healthcare, please make an appointment for a

30 min free consultation over the phone to discuss how our services can help you and pricing.

Why do you not accept insurance?

Unfortunately, the current insurance based financial system limits the amount of time providers can spend with patients and dictates the services that can be provided. Conventional insurance based medical practices visits tend to be very brief in order to keep up with the rising costs of running a practice, which detracts from the quality of care we wish to provide for our patients with the integrative and functional approach.

Are you my primary care provider?

You are required to have a primary care provider to help manage annual physicals, FMLA paperwork, and after hours urgent care needs. We do not respond to any urgent or after hour calls.  Guiding Light Holistic Healthcare is a specialty practice that serves as an integrative healthcare consult.

Do you have a physical clinic location?

Due to the safety concerns with the Coronavirus pandemic, healthcare visits will be meeting through a HIPAA compliant video conference call. In the future, we hope to have a physical location to provide care and provide a hybrid model between telehealth and in-person visits.
